Prisoner of the Judoon Linked To Dreamland

The  head  writer  of The Sarah Jane Adventures, Phil Ford, has revealed to SFX that the first story in SJA series three, Prisoner of the Judoon, will have a direct link to the upcoming Doctor Who animated adventure, Dreamland. A screening for Prisoner of the Judoon was held, and here is a quote from SFX regarding the episode; “It’s a fantastic romp, which joyously pokes fun at the Judoons' jobsworth attitude and has a bizarre performance from Lis Sladen that needs to be seen to be believed. It's all very silly, but loveably so, with some great, laugh-out-loud one-liners and some pretty decent effects - the kids in the audience loved the baddie alien's lizard tongue. The main problem with it are Rani's comedy parents (the modern-day Meekers from Rentaghost) , who have far too much screen time and get in the way of the action. They're fine as background support characters, but you really don't want them in the main action.” You can read the full article about Prisoner of the Judoon on the official SFX website here.

Richard Curtis Talks About Doctor Who

BBC entertainment correspondent, Lizo Mzimba, the BBC entertainment correspondent has interviewed Richard Curtis about writing for Doctor Who (read more in older post here). Richard said; "It features something very nasty and I hope it will be scary, funny and a bit touching, writing Doctor Who is such a joy.  I started off overwriting him a bit, and Steven Moffat came to me and said 'He doesn't talk like that, he's informal, he's modern'. So I've crushed it down and added in a few colloquialisms and it's really fun. There are slices of comedy in it, I've been aware because the plot is so strong that I can fool around and then frighten.  I wrote a chase today which is the most fun I've ever had." Curtis revealed that the episode will start filming in November and will still feature his trademark comedy, and will also scare viewers. It is suspected that series five might get an earlier start next year, as Richard Curtis said his episode may broadcast at some point in February, earlier than a usual April start.

Richard Curtis To Write for Doctor Who

The BBC have revealed that the recent Richards Curtis will be writing an episode for Doctor Who series five. Richard Curtis is most known for writing films such as; Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones's Diary, Notting Hill, The Boat That Rocked and Love Actually, and the television sitcoms; Blackadder, Mr. Bean and The Vicar of Dibley. You can read more about Richard and his work on Wikipedia here. It is unknown how many episodes of Doctor Who Richard will be writing, but he did say this in an interview; “There will be a monster. And a famous historical figure will battle the monster. It's tremendously good fun and a treat for my children. These days the things you can watch together as a family are much fewer so when you get something like Doctor Who or The X Factor it is such a pleasure to sit down as a family. I am very interested in time travel for some reason or other. I am writing a film about it but on a low budget with no spectacular special effects. Maybe it's a desire to get out of being old. Sometimes you do just love the idea that you could go back in time and change things." Doctor Who series five will air in Spring next year on BBC One and BBC HD.

The Day of the Troll Synopsis

BBC Audiobooks have revealed the synopsis for the upcoming exclusive Doctor Who audio story, The Day of the Troll. This is the fifth audiobook in the series and is read by David Tennant. The audiobook is written by Simon Messingham, and you can read the synopsis for the story on this website below.

When the Doctor arrives on Earth in the far future, he is horrified to find the planet beset by famine and starvation. England is a barren wasteland, and scientists are desperately seeding the ground to make the crops grow again. But now it seems that something even worse is happening. Karl Baring, the owner of research facility The Grange, has been snatched away in the middle of the night. His sister Katy was with him when he vanished, but is now in catatonic shock - so it is up to the Doctor, with the help of the scientists at The Grange, to investigate. What is lurking under the old bridge, and why is it preying on people? The Doctor must find out, before it strikes again...

The previous four Doctor Who audio exclusive stories are currently on sale. The Day of the Troll will be released in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the eighth of October at the recommended retail price of £9.99.

The Sarah Jane Adventures News and More

Recently an event called the “See Me on CBBC” Tour was on in the Trafford Centre and at the event you had the chance to act out SJA scenes. One of the scenes featured a Judoon, and the other featured the Blathereen, the Slitheens cousins who will appear in the series three finale. One thing that was learned from the event is that the Blathereen are not green like the Slitheen, but they are orange. You can see an image of the Blathereen from the event below, thanks to Nabu San from the Sarah Jane TV website.
