“The Time Lords were pretty fallible too,” David perseveres. “It’s hubris. It’s Greek. It needed that scale to tell the final story. It’s a tale of the gods, really... but gods who are fallible... and, I suppose, human...”

Below are four new Doctor Who BBC Idents which will be shown during the breaks of programmes on BBC One starting from Saturday 12th of December.

There is also a new preview for The End of Time, and a trailer for Christmas Drama on BBC One, also showing new clips from The End of Time.

In other news, the Christmas editions of the Radio Times and TV & Satellite Week are released on Tuesday. They both include Doctor Who related covers.

13 EPISODES FOR TORCHWOOD SERIES 4

John Barrowman otherwise known as Captain Jack, has confirmed that Torchwood will be back for 13 episodes in series four in an interview on Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC Radio 2 on Monday. He said; “We are discussing the future of Torchwood because most definitely Torchwood will come back to the BBC, which is fantastic. We're not sure when, because we have to work out the logistics of the filming - and it's already said that it'll be 13 episodes instead of 5." Creator of Torchwood Russell T Davies previously stated that he hopes to begin production on the series in January.

On the topic of returning to Doctor Who after his appearance in this years Christmas specials, he said; “I don't know about Captain's Jack future in Doctor Who because nothing has been said or I haven't been asked.”

The 24th issue of the The Doctor Who DVD Files was released in all good newsagents across the UK and Ireland today. THE END OF TIME BROADCAST DETAILS & MORE

The BBC have confirmed the transmission time for The End of Time part one and two. Part one will air on Christmas Day from 6-7pm, and part two will air on New Years Day from 6.40-7.55pm, both on BBC One and BBC HD.

SERIES FIVE FILMING IN CROATIA

An episode of Doctor Who series five is being shot in Croatia. From reports it sounds as though in the scenes, filmed with Matt Smith and Karen Gillian, the Tardis arrives at some market stalls, and rumours suggest that the story is set centuries ago and has vampires in it. An image from filming is below.

Synopsis

The TARDIS materialises on board the maiden voyage of a pioneering space cruiser, travelling from Earth to the planet Eternity.

Shortly afterwards, he discovers that nearly all the passengers and crew have disappeared.

Unless the Doctor and flight attendant Sugar MacAuley can take control and steer the ship, they could crash-land – or keep slipping through space forever. And as if that wasn’t enough, something awful awaits them on Eternity.

THE WATERS OF MARS FINAL RATINGS

Final figures released by BARB show that The Waters of Mars was watched by 10.32 million people, with 9.94 million watching on BBC 1, and 376,000 watching on BBC HD. It was the 2nd most watched programme of the week.

WATCH DREAMLAND EPISODE ONE

The first episode of the new animation is now available online and a new part will be available from 4pm everyday via the official Doctor Who website or on the BBC Red Button up until next Thursday when it finishes. The animation will be shown in full on Saturday the 5th of December at 10am on BBC 2, and at 5.55pm on BBC HD, and it will be released on DVD on the 2nd of February next year. You can watch episode one of the animation below.

THE END OF TIME PREVIEW CLIP

Earlier tonight the preview from The End of Time part one was shown during the Children in Need telethon. The clip shows the Doctor visiting the Ood Sphere, meeting Ood Sigma, and the other Ood. The preview is below.

David Tennant also left a message during the show asking for people to donate, and there is also a new trailer for Doctor Who Dreamland, which starts online tomorrow on the official website and on the BBC 1 Red Button.
