Planet of the Dead Overnight Ratings

According to unofficial overnight ratings for television, the Easter special of Doctor Who, Planet of the Dead, was watched by 8.41 million viewers, which means that it got a 39.6% share of the total television audience for that day. An extra 184,000 watched the episode on the BBC HD channel, which is the channel's highest rating to date. Doctor Who was the most watched programme on BBC One and it had the second highest rating on television for that day, just losing out to Britain's Got Talent, which got 10.52 million viewers on ITV1 last night. The overnight figures also show that Doctor Who Confidential was watched by 0.46 million people. Official figures for the episode will be released in 10 days time from BARB.
