The BBC Press Office has released the synopsis for the sixth episode of series five, The Vampires of Venice. The synopsis for the episode is below.

Dessicated corpses, terror in the canal and a visit to the sinister House of Calvierri – the Doctor takes Amy and Rory for a romantic mini-break, as the Tardis touches down once again.

But 17th-century Venice is not as it should be. The city has been sealed to protect it from the Plague, although Rosanna Calvierri may have other plans...

The Doctor is played by Matt Smith, Amy by Karen Gillan, Rory by Arthur Darvill and Rosanna Calvierri by Helen McCrory.

The Vampires of Venice airs on Saturday May 8th at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC HD,  and will be followed by Doctor Who Confidential on BBC Three/HD.
