Here at the Tardis Base we have an early copy of Doctor Who Series 5 Volume 1 on Blu-ray. This vanilla release featuring The Eleventh Hour, The Beast Below, and Victory of the Daleks, is the first volume release to include an extra feature, titled “Monster Files”. This great ten minute feature takes a look at the Daleks and includes interviews with the cast and crew.

There is also another change made for this new release, the next time trailers have been removed from the episodes, which can be seen as a bad or good thing depending on each person. But overall, this volume is definitely worth buying unless you have plans on buying the complete boxset.

Also included in the box is a little BBC Books preview sampler booklet featuring a prologue for the upcoming book, Nuclear Time, by Oli Smith.

To celebrate the release, HMV are offering Doctor Who carrier bags in store.

Doctor Who Series 5 Volume 1 is out on Monday on DVD and Blu-ray.
