The new issue of Doctor Who Magazine, on sale today, reveals that Doctor Who series 6 will premiere on Easter weekend, on Saturday April 23rd! The opening episode which takes place in America will also be shown on the US on the same day on BBC America. The opening episode is part one of two episodes written by Steven Moffat which includes the return of River Song.

The US broadcast date was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly along with a promotional picture advertising the series. Check it out below:
