MIRACLE DAY WOWS US CRITICS

It seems that the launch of Torchwood Mircale Day in the USA has been a roaring success. After debuting on Starz 2 nights ago, critics all over America have been highly reviewing the new series.

Ken Tucker in Entertainment Weekly said: “Juggling the themes of famine, fame, and family, Torchwood: Miracle Day... makes a transatlantic shift that will, I hope, broaden this marvellous, tense fantasy’s audience."

Sci-fi specialist blog io9 also praised the show, saying: “There’s seldom been an hour of television that brought up as many fascinating ideas about the nature of humanity as Torchwood: Miracle Day’s first episode, which just aired.”

USA Today described it as “highly polished”, Variety magazine said it was a “crackerjack” and the Chicago Tribune said:“If you watch the first hour and don’t find yourself hooked, check your wrist – you may not have a pulse.”

Writer, Russell T Davies said: “I went to LA to try my luck. I think I’ve achieved everything I could have hoped for in Wales and so it was the challenge, and the good weather maybe, that attracted me.”

So, it seems that us UK viewers are in for a treat of the 14th (that's if you haven't already seen it online).
