The Categories of Life airs tonight at 10pm on Starz and next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.

EVE MYLES: “BIG SHOCKS” TO COME

Eve Myles and Alexa Havins were interviewed by The Wall Street Journal in which Eve teased “Once you get to episode five, in particular it starts to unravel and unravel so fast. This series is about expecting the unexpected. What I can say is that it’s going to smack you in the face like a bat. Some big shocks.” Read an extract from the interview below:

The first few shows have been so frantic. Is the pace going to level off?
Myles: You haven’t seen anything yet. It ramps up a hundred percent. Once you get to episode five, in particular it starts to unravel and unravel so fast. And there’s so much to take in. It just goes crazy the closer you get to finding out what’s going on. You will not be able to breathe.
Havins: And just when you think it’s a plateau, no, no, no.

Myles: That’s what Russell [Davies] does, you see. I see exactly where this is going, it’s so simple. He will then drop you like a ton of bricks and start going in the other direction. This series is about expecting the unexpected.

Any sneak previews of what’s to come?
Myles: There’s not going to be any cliffhangers. What I can say is that it’s going to smack you in the face like a bat. Some big shocks.

Havins: And a lot of relationships are going to come into play. Family relationships. We’ll learn why Mekhi’s character Rex is so gruff and why he has this wall up. Should be plenty of surprises and stunts.
Myles: Yes, stunning stunts. You won’t know what hit you.

MATT SMITH: THE DOCTOR IS SELFISH

Matt Smith has revealed how he thinks that the Doctor can be selfish, as he can be in-considerate of his companions feelings.

He told SFX:
"He's such a nomad, and he does his thing.... He doesn't quite engage in the way that other people do. He's his own man,"
"When you think about it, he's actually quite selfish. Because he picks these people up - often hot women - and then cruises around, drops them off, and goes, 'See you later. Someone else's turn!"
He also revealed his favourite stories so far:
"I love the [Weeping] Angels episodes, 'The Time Of Angels'. I love 'The Eleventh Hour', I love 'Day of the Moon', I love 'The Big Bang', I love 'Vincent And The Doctor'… It's so tricky. I love them for so many different reasons because I have so many memories associated with them."
Earlier today, a new trailer for Series 6 part 2 aired.

A brand new trailer for the second half of Series 6 has aired, featuring never before seen clips.

What are your thoughts on the new trailer?

KAREN GILLAN: "CHEMISTRY IS HEART OF WHO"

Karen Gillan has revealed that she thinks the chemistry between companion and Doctor is 'the heart' of the show, thanks to Billie Piper.
"I remember watching Billie Piper play Rose, and she's my favourite companion because I thought she was really brilliant with Chris Eccleston, and the chemistry she had with David Tennant was brilliant.
"It just made me realise how important it is in the show that the chemistry between the Doctor and companion is at the heart of the show."
However, she also said that the dynamic between Amy and the Doctor is set to change after the reveal of River Song's true indentity.
"It's going to take some twists and turns, and all relationships and the whole dynamic is going to change, after the big revelation at the end of the last half of the series. I had some fun with Alex Kingston, wth that."

MATT SMITH TEASES 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Matt Smith has teased that the 50th Anniversary in 2013 will be an "event".

Speaking to SFX he said:
"I think we've got to do something that is an event. We've got to create an event, absolutely. That's certainly the plan. I don't know what that is. The powers that be upstairs will decide that. But I'm hoping we can definitely make it something unique."
He also backed up his recent claims that he wants a multi-Doctor story for the anniversary, saying:
"That's what [an anniversary] is about. It's about creating an event for everyone who's been involved with Who, the fans included, and just going, 'Hey, look at this thing we've all been following for 50 years'."

MATT SMITH: "ELISABETH SLADEN LIKE ROYALTY"

Home Media Magazine caught up with Matt Smith at the recent Comic Con event, and they talked about the recent passing of Elisabeth Sladen.

He said:
“What’s incredible about Lis is she actually meant something to three generations, to kids back in the 70s and 80s, to kids now and to adults now.

I think that’s a remarkable feat and a testament to Elisabeth Sladen. She had great grace and a great sense of youthfulness about her, which I have not seen in many people. It’s a tragedy, a real sad day for everyone associated with Doctor Who.”
Matt Smith stared alongside Sladen in the recent series of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
