The British Fantasy Society has named Doctor Who as the best television programme at the FantasyCon convention in Nottingham. The writer of the series one episode “Dalek”, Rob Shearman, accepted the award and tributed it to Julie Gardner and Russell T Davies, the current executive producers of Doctor Who. Rob Shearman revealed that some people had actually laughed about Doctor Who coming back in 2005 when he told them he was writing for it. Dotor Who and Torchwood are currently nominated for awards at the NTA’s, and there is still time to
vote online.
