BETH WILLIS TO LEAVE BBC AND DOCTOR WHO
It seems that Beth Willis is to leave the BBC and return to Kudos Film and Television.
She is leaving to rejoin production company Kudos Film and Television, where she worked as producer of Ashes to Ashes. When asked about her time on Doctor Who she said it has been a “fantastic experience".
When asked about her reason for returning and stepping down from BBC Wales and the producer of Doctor Who said said:
"The opportunity to return to Kudos, a company whose creativity is inspirational, was a temptation I couldn’t resist. The plans taking shape for the next series of Doctor Who, and for the 50th anniversary, are beyond exciting, and with Steven Moffat at the helm, this incredibly special time for the show is in very safe hands.”
Beth is the second producer to step down from the show, along with Piers Wenger (who is leaving to join Film 4). The two of them joined Doctor Who with the Fifth season, and will be replaced for the 2012 episodes.
We wish them both the best of luck in their future. What do you think about the switch up in producers? Who do you think will get the job next? Who would you like to see producing Doctor Who?
