The BBC have finally officially confirmed the broadcast date for episode 1 of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Episode one, The New World will air on Thursday July 14th at 9pm on BBC One and BBC One HD. The series will then continue on Thursday nights.

Den of Geek commented on the broadcast date: “Still a full six days after the US transmission, although given that Starz is paying the lion's share of the show's budget, that's perhaps to be expected.”

“There are obvious problems, however, for the BBC in showing the series so many days after the US tranmission, not least the risk of online spoilers. Our main hope, though, is that the ratings for the UK hold up in the light of the delay, and encourage the BBC to pump more money into the show well into the future.”
