SARAH JANE ADVENTURES SERIES FOUR AND FIVE

SJA

The new issue of Doctor Who Magazine which was released today reveals news about The Sarah Jane Adventures. It confirms that there will be a fourth AND fifth series, with each series featuring the usual 12 half hour episodes (6 stories). Executive producer Nikki Wilson reveals: "After a hugely successful third year, in which ratings went up - a rare feat for television these days! - the fourth series has been planned for a long time, with scripts well underway, and all the regular cast rasy to return. It's a testament to them that the series has become so popular with young viewers. I can promise lots more thrills, scares and fun with enemies old and new, including the terrors of the Nightmare Man, the sinister Shansheeth, our first visit to an alien world, and even a dangerous journey back into history." So far the writers confirmed for series four are; Phil Ford, Gareth Roberts, Rupert Laight, Joseph Lidster, & Clayton Hickman (interview with Clay here.)

Series four begins filming this month for broadcast in Autumn on BBC One.

Rumours (take with a pinch of salt):

- Half of series five is being filmed with series four.
- There will be an hour special written by Gareth Roberts.
- The Weeping Angels will appear in series four.
- One story may act as a sequel to the classic story “The Hand of Fear”.
