Doctor Who has recently been nominated for its special effects at the annual Visual Effects Society Awards. The show has been nominated in the 'Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Miniseries, Movie or Special' category for the effects of the Cyberking in last years Christmas special. Doctor Who has also been nominated in the 'Outstanding Matte Paintings in a Broadcast Program or Commercial' category for the Series 4 episode Silence in the Library.
